Ella Fitzgerald - At the Opera House

Maybe I'm old fashioned, but I think it's inappropriate for a basketball player to lie down on the court and cry after a loss. I prefer the West Virginia approach. There were a lot of "what the fuck?" faces on that bench. The Duke kids were crying with time left in the game. That Gonzaga kid was crying with time left and a chance for the win. The LSU kids looked like they stopped thinking about the game once those Duke kids started crying.

I didn't really care about missing the Duke game until you wrote that they were crying at the end. I would like to watch Dukies cry, because that means somewhere Dick Vitale is probably weeping as well, and that makes me happy.

They didn't cry nearly as much as Adam Morrison. He literally sprawled out on the middle of the court, on his stomach, and cried. It was one of the strangest damn things I've ever seen (associated with a basketball game). But yes, J.J. Reddick had puffy red eyes with a salty discharge coming from those eyes. In our game, I loved the West Virginia bench after Paulino hit that shot. It was like an entire team saying, "what the fuck" in unison.

I feel fortunate that my local CBS switched me to the Texas game for the last five or six minutes. I know that we clearly care more about a Washington state school and a Los Angeles school than we do about Texas and West Virginia, it's the proximity, but I appreciate the switch.

that is... I have no words for what that is. effed up doesn't begin to cover it. I sincerely hope his coach and his father each read him the riot act after the game. wow. that's... wow. talk to you later, EKG.

I think he can get away with it since he's unbelievably good and he has a reputation for being very emotional during games, but it was strange. There's 2 seconds left and they're down by one point and he's crying. The best, most clutch player on Gonzaga's roster removes himself as a viable option to attempt the game winner.
