Here's Why Not Kinky

I'm really not sure how Kinky Friedman is getting so much support from progressives in Texas. Everywhere around Austin there are "Why Not Kinky" bumper stickers. When did banning abortion, copying Israeli immigration policy, and requiring prayer in schools, become liberal ideals? How can a man who seems to have no qualifications, no competence, and no good ideas, become a viable candidate for liberal Texans? It reminds me of Jimmy James running for President on Newsradio. So I have to ask, is Kinky running for Governor to meet women?

Update: I want to add that, as of right now, I'm not enthusiastically supporting anyone in this race. I'm sure I'll end up voting for Chris Bell, but he's not so exciting. That said, I believe Kinky is clearly the least desirable of the four candidates, comfortably behind Perry.
