the Kinks - Something Else by the Kinks

We went to Milwaukee today. It was a pretty frustrating experience. Road construction got us lost. But, we got some Alterra coffee by the Crate and Barrell and a really cool cheese cutting board with a built-in blade. Total frivolous, but cool anyway. What was supposed to be a late lunch turned into an early dinner when we couldn't get to the restaurant. We ate at a great Mexican restaurant called Botanas. It's owned by the same people who own La Perla. It's also about one block from La Perla on S. 5th. It was worth the drive and getting lost. Great salsa, great empanadas, great beans and rice, and great Carta Blanca. I'll definitely try to go back. I think I'd enjoy living in Milwaukee much more than Madison simply due to the size of Milwaukee. It's not huge, but it's pretty big. It's about 583,000 people. It's got good Mexican food and good coffee. I think the lake effects wind would kill me though. That's a huge lake.
